My lap steel plays fine after replacing the strings. The legs are mostly crap, shaky and the female receptor at the guitar itself pulled out because the screws weren't long enough. I play it on a desk now, without legs, and it sounds pretty good. Considering how much it cost, I would say it was worth the money I paid for it.

I'm a guitar player of 25 years, but this is my first lap steel.I bought the blue version in the same model. It is surprizingly attractive out of the box and appears to be a much more expensive instrument than what I would expect for $99. Performance-wise it meets what I expected for the price. Still having considerable difficulty with the tuners staying in place, even after stretching the strings. I may replace the tuners, the pickup, and get some flat wound strings. The pickup buzzes like a very low quality single coil even when making contact with the strings or while playing. I'm hoping these changes will do it, as the only other thing I think can be done to improve it would be to replace the nut, as it is a tall plastic piece that could be causing some of the tuning issues. Few tweaks might get it playing much better, but as of now it's a bit frustrating.

Bought this as a christmas gift for my daughter. Very impressed with the gig bag and legs, unfortunately they don't include a slide with it?? I found that to be a little suprising since it is an integral part of playing the guitar

I am a musician that plays multiple instruments; I've also owned a specialty music store for the last 10 years (this review is not me trying to sell you something - I don't sell this sort of instrument...).
This is my first Lap Steel. When I first took it out of the box, I was pleasantly surprised by the visual quality of the instrument and the sturdiness of the legs. The included gig bag was well thought-out. It is a thick, good quality bag that will cushion the instrument nicely. It even has a place to store the legs safely for transport.
The instrument sounds good through an amp. The only thing that I might improve is the tuners - they're perfectly fine for a beginner's instrument (they do hold a tuning ok); it would be nice if they were a little more sensitive.
I am very satisfied with this purchase.

My aunt has this exact product, she paid more for it, and my dad loved it. So, we decided to get him one for Christmas. Were very excited and we're sure he's going to love it. From what I've read it's perfect for a beginner.
