This Orpheo Bassoon features a high D key, covered wing joint, 3rd finger hole with plateau key, left hand whisper key connected to the low E key, automatic G-ring key, F/G# roller keys, F#/G# trill key. All posts are set with epoxy and spring posts are locked with screws. The body is made of patented resonite fusion, a 21 century composite compound selected for its Maple wood sound quality, intonation, response, ease of maintenance and durability. With our compound there is no loss in sound over Maple, plus there is no reason to ever worry about cracking. You will likely find it to be richer and have less troublesome register changes than wood. The bottom boot cap is removable to allow a water key to empty excess moisture in the boot. 18% nickel silver key castings are used along with Nickel silver hinges and machined parts.
