Also on this Orpheo maple bassoon, a new epoxy resin lining is used to resist the common problem of moisture with bassoons. The bottom boot cap of this maple bassoon is removable to allow the water key to empty excessive moisture in the boot itself. In addition metal tubes on this bassoon are extended into the bore in the finger holes of the wing and boot joints to prevent water from entering the tone holes.
